Experimental Study and Simulation of Solar Desalination Unit

In this work some modifications to the conventional water desalination systems using solar energy were investigated both experimentally and numerically. The work includes a simulation on the effect of baffles on improving the performance of hollow fiber membrane distillation, experimental evaluation of flat sheet direct contact membrane distillation, and an experimental investigation on a novel hybrid Multi Effect Distillation - Membrane Distillation (MED-MD) system driven by solar energy.
